UA&P DEAN HONORED WITH 9TH DISTINGUISHED THOMASIAN ALUMNI AWARD
AN OFFICIAL from the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) has been named one of the recipients of the 9th Distinguished Thomasian Alumni Award by the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Alumni Association.
Dr. Nicomedes B. Alviar, dean of the UA&P School of Social Sciences, Law, and Governance, received the recognition last month.
The award honors UST graduates who exemplify Thomasian values and have made remarkable achievements in their respective fields, both locally and internationally.
Alviar completed his high school, AB Asian Studies, and MA in Political Science at UST, before earning his PhD in Political Science from the University of the Philippines Diliman.
As an educator and researcher, Alviar has dedicated his career to advancing education while actively contributing to civic volunteerism, values education, and social work, particularly for underprivileged communities.
He is also an active member of prominent organizations, including the Philippine Political Science Association, the Philippine Council for Foreign Relations, the Galing Pook Foundation, and the International Editorial Board of the Philippine Social Science Review.
