TWO UPV STUDENTS RECOGNIZED IN INT’L INTERNSHIP
TWO Communication and Media Studies students of the University of the Philippines Visayas gained recognition for having the “most read” and “most shared” articles during their five-month internship at an international magazine.
Hans Ethan Carbonilla and Lara Palay attended the 8th Cohort Development Innovation Global (Diinsider) Correspondents Program this year. They were among the 28 global correspondents for Change Magazine, a flagship media hub under Diinsider.
Carbonilla had the “most read” article in February for his story on a local fishing community entitled “Inaccessibility that Slows Down Dreams.”
Palay, on the other hand, had the “most shared” article for her story on the mental and emotional burdens of gifted kids called “Gifted Kid Burnout.”
“Juggling acads and the five-month global internship program was not a piece of cake. As a quick rejoinder, with proper time management, it is possible,” Carbonilla said.
“Social impact and community development projects are causes that are close to my heart. Having a platform, like Diinsider, to share stories related to my advocacies is truly gratifying,” Palay said.
Diinsider is a content creator and solutions provider for entrepreneurs, development actors, and partners in the Bottom of the Pyramid Market. Its mission is to improve quality of lives for the underserved 4 to 5 billion population.
