TSU PARTNERS WITH GERONA LGU FOR ICT DEVELOPMENT

/ 21 July 2024

THE Tarlac State University has partnered with the local government of Gerona to improve the school’s six offices of the ICT services.

The offices included are the Office of Management and Information System, Office of Human Resource Development and Management, Budget Management Unit, Accounting Unit, Supply and Property Management Unit, and Procurement Unit.

The LGU aimed to understand TSU’s transaction systems to improve services for Gerona residents. They also explored how OMIS resolves system issues and learned from SPMU’s QR code tracking for property management.

This visit is part of the “Advancing Technology, Advancing Government” program, a collaboration between TSU’s College of Computer Studies and LGU Gerona

Dr. Marlon Gamido, OMIS director and ATAG project leader, presented a data cabinet to the LGU for initial networking and computing equipment.

Launched last April 2023, ATAG aims to digitize and streamline municipal services like permit and license applications and tax payments. The program includes mentorship for municipal employees by CCS faculty on technology use and monitoring.

Key contributors to ATAG are Dr. Heidilyn Gamido (information systems), Dr. Edjie Delos Reyes (network and hardware), Prof. Valarie Simbol (training and education), Prof. Dennis Virtudazo (process improvement), and Prof. Jerome Legaspi (monitoring and evaluation).
