TSU, DEPED FORGE PARTNERSHIP FOR STUDENT EMPOWERMENT
THE TARLAC State University has partnered with the Department of Education Tarlac City Schools to provide co-curricular and extracurricular activities to continue empowering the students.
A memorandum of agreement was signed by officials of both institutions earlier this month to formalize the partnership.
Titled “MATATAG NA BUKAS: Shaping Filipino Learners for a Resilient and Future-Ready Nation,” the project aims to enhance student leadership, civic education, mental well-being, cultural awareness, and sports through training and seminars.
The two-year program will be implemented in 17 public secondary schools under TCSD. It will be led by TSU’s College of Education.
Project head Mr. Deyo Carlos L. Dela Cruz emphasized the initiative’s alignment with DepEd’s MATATAG agenda, promoting resilience and adaptability among learners.
Dr. Ruth D. Jimenez, representing TCSD’s superintendent, highlighted the partnership’s role in holistic education, calling it a step toward empowering students to lead and achieve academic excellence.
TSU President Dr. Arnold E. Velasco connected the program to a “saranggola framework,” symbolizing the project’s values, structure, and adaptability in preparing students for real-world challenges.
