TIP PROFS SHINE IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING RESEARCH TILT

FACULTY members of the Technological Institute of the Philippines Manila were victorious in the recently concluded Electrical Engineering Research Contest.

Dr. Gerard Francesco Apolinario was named champion for his study on quantum computing-inspired algorithm.

Apolinario co-authored the study with fellow faculty member Engr. Dylan Josh Lopez from the Computer Engineering Department of TIP Quezon City.

Meanwhile, Engr. Rowel Facunla emerged as the first runner-up for his research on a software that analyzes quality data to identify and address harmonic distortions, subject to power system industry regulations.

Facuncla worked on the research with fourth year electronic engineer majors Nicole Guilalas and Mariah Louisse Nicol.

The competition was hosted by the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. It was held during the 48th Annual National Convention of IIEE and the awards ceremony took place last November 2023.
