TIP PARTNERS WITH PNP
THE Technological Institute of the Philippines signed a memorandum of understanding with the Philippine National Police Directorate for Research and Development to work on multidisciplinary projects related to law enforcement and public safety.
The alliance was forged on Monday, June 19, 2023.
“It (MOU) serves as a testament to our commitment to enhancing our existing and future operations with the ultimate goal of better serving and protecting the Filipino people,” acting PNP Deputy Chief for Administration Police Lieutenant General Rhodel Sermonia said.
Under the agreement, the PNP shall lead in establishing lines of communication with TIP through formal and informal meetings whereby projects may be proposed.
The terms of collaboration shall be negotiated per project.
Sermonia presided over the MOU signing ceremony on behalf of PNP chief Major General Benjamin Acorda, Jr.
The partnership covers “greater and more creative exchange of ideas and methods” in pursuit of jointly approved research undertakings and training programs.
TIP Quezon City Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Cynthia Llanes signed the MOU on behalf of TIP President Dr. Elizabeth Quirino-Lahoz and Senior Vice President Angelo Q. Lahoz.
Sermonia represented Acorda.
“I am optimistic that this collaboration will undoubtedly yield fruitful results in enhancing our capabilities,” he said. “Together, we can develop cutting-edge solutions, enhance our operational efficiency, and foster a culture of integrity within our ranks.”
