TIP, DOST-NCR TEAM UP TO DRIVE MSME DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

/ 29 August 2025

RECOGNIZING  the vital role of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in local manufacturing, the Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP) and the Department of Science and Technology–National Capital Region (DOST-NCR) have partnered to support MSMEs in transitioning from mechanized to automated and smart manufacturing systems.

Through Project ADAPT NCR, TIP aims to assess MSME readiness for Industry 4.0 and identify key interventions needed for digital transformation.

Funded by DOST-NCR, the project will highlight areas in enterprise operations that must evolve from traditional manual systems to digitized workflows.

A locally adapted Readiness and Needs Assessment Tool will be co-developed with input from government agencies, industry experts, and MSMEs to evaluate operational inefficiencies, technology gaps, and workforce capabilities.

Findings will guide MSMEs in adopting cost-effective, scalable, and sustainable technologies while also identifying strategies to improve product quality and workforce productivity.

“Project ADAPT NCR supports the broader objectives of DOST-NCR’s Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program, which seeks to empower MSMEs through innovation and improved productivity,” TIP said.
