FINE Arts students from Tarlac State University won several awards during the Development Academy of the Philippines’ on-the-spot painting competition held this month.

John Ronn Aviguetero won third place in the tertiary category. Myjo Maj Perez and Ira Jho Cacanog received honorable mention.

Meanwhile, Fine Arts faculty member Edno Joson placed second in the mentor category.

Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Agnes Macaraeg acknowledged the winners.

Fine Arts chairperson Jessie Tadeo Jr., also the student artists’ coach, thanked the TSU administration for its support.

Themed “Kapwa: Retracing the Nation Builder’s Flow of Heart and Mind,” the competition was in line with the celebration of the 50th founding anniversary of DAP.

The first prize winner received P15,000, the second prize winner P10,000, and P5,000 for the third prize. Their paintings were also displayed at the art gallery of the DAP Conference Center in Tagaytay City.
