SUACONA SETS UP FUND FOR ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH
THE SILLIMAN University Alumni and Council of North America set up a fund to support members of the university who are pursuing studies and research on environmental conservation and sustainability.
Graduate students, faculty, staff and research affiliates can receive funding through scholarships, research and travel grants through the SUACONA Environmental Funds Scholarship Grants.
“Scholarships will cover tuition fees and thesis/dissertation expenses of graduate students pursuing studies on environmental conservation and sustainability. Depending on performance and funds available, scholarships can be renewable,” SU said.
“Research grants will be available for SU faculty, staff, and graduate students, but they can also be given to research affiliates (non-students, non-faculty/staff) who are recognized by the university academic unit as such and have an ultimate goal of publishing their results with co-authorship shared with an academic unit,” it added.
The application for research grants is open year-round. As for travel grants, these will cover travel within the Philippines and will include transportation and lodging.
This is open to SU graduate students, faculty and staff who will present an oral or poster presentation at a conference or seminar on environmental conservation and sustainability areas.
The deadline for applications for the scholarship is on January 31, 2023.
For application requirements and conditions of the scholarships, interested individuals can email the SU Scholarships and Aid Division at [email protected] or call (035) 422 6002 local 328.
