CITING fatigue from school work and financial problems, students appealed for academic break.
Using the #AcademicBreakNow on Twitter, the students said that they need a break to be able to perform well in distance learning.
Some noted that they are starting to lose interest in school and are considering skipping enrollment next semester if distance learning continues.
“Ever since the school year started, i haven’t had enough sleep yet, this kind of learning is too tiring, resting is like a sin, this learning method won’t give us knowledge rather it would give us a weak immune system,” one student said.
“…so we are on the same boat again? Seriously, overloaded na kaayo sa mga school works idk where to start. Instead of taking my time to learn, I am stressing about passing all these activities on time,” another quipped.
The Philippines has implemented a flexible learning scheme since the start of the pandemic in 2020.
The government is set to roll out limited face-to-face classes on November 15, 2021 for basic education.
Meanwhile, the Commission on Higher Education expanded the coverage of physical classes to include more courses and programs.
