STUDENT IN ILOILO WINS IN INTERNATIONAL SPACE ART CONTEST

/ 10 June 2023

A GRADE 6 student of the Cabatuan Central Elementary School in Cabatuan, Iloilo won in the International Space Art Contest which was organized by Limitless Space Institute, Crayola Experience and Axiom Space.

Sol Paul Charis Libiano’s oil pastel drawing titled “Space Travel” was selected by NASA Icon and Ax-2 Commander Peggy Whitson, Limitless Space Institute Education Director Kaci Heins, Visual Artist and Poet Monique Lorden, and Shoffner.

There were 930 entries submitted from 26 countries.

The theme of the contest was “What Would It Look Like If We Live in Space.”

Ronie Continente, Libiano’s teacher and coach, said that he saw the student’s potential when he enrolled in Summer Art Workshop.

Libiano placed second in Editorial Cartooning English at the Congressional and Division Schools Press Conference.

He encouraged his fellow students to share their talents in art.
