A STUDENT group urged the University of the East-Caloocan to immediately release the list of qualified scholars for the first semester of Academic Year 2023-2024.

The Central Student Council said that releasing the list of scholars will help students make a decision as it will also affect their financial security.

“Students have a hard time anticipating whether they are included in the list before they decide to enroll. Therefore, if the scholarship notification will be void, the CSC is asking for an immediate release of the list of scholars for the next A.Y. 2023-2024,” the CSC said.

“It is a matter of urgency as they have the right to be informed before jumping into a decision, as it will affect their financial security,” it added.

The student body also asked the university not to require potential scholars to pay upon enrollment “as most students rely on their scholarships.”

It said that the refund process is long because the university is “generally slow to respond online.”
