STANDFORD CLUB RENEWS PARTNERSHIP WITH ATENEO
THE STANFORD Club of the Philippines renewed its partnership with the Ateneo Center for Educational Development to continue providing meals for 100 malnourished public school students for eight weeks.
The beneficiaries for this year will be from Project 6 Elementary School in Quezon City.
“The Stanford Club decided to renew its partnership with ACED because the Club places a strong emphasis on support for education,” the university said.
“A significant component of educational support is ensuring that students have enough nourishment for a day of challenging academics and learning activities,” it added.
Andrea Sy, the president of the Stanford Club, said that lack of nutrition is one of the primary causes of poor academic performance.
To address this concern, former President Rodrigo Duterte enacted Republic Act 11037 or the Masustansyang Pagkain para sa Batang Pilipino Act which established a National Feeding Program for undernourished public school children in day care centers, as well as those in Kindergarten to Grade 6.
Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte earlier launched Kalusugan food trucks in several schools nationwide to address malnutrition and hunger problems among students.
