THE SORSOGON State University and Central Bicol State University of Agriculture inked a Memorandum of Agreement for the establishment of an apiculture center recently.

The collaboration is meant in assisting SSU in establishing the provincial apiculture center in Sorsogon that is linked with the National Apiculture Center.

SSU emphasized the role of apiculture in agriculture.

“Apiculture or beekeeping qualifies as an important component of agriculture, especially in the pollination of cross-pollinated crops such as fruit trees, vegetables, cereals, vine, crops, grasses, and shrubs, for their maximum yield potential and the perpetuation of wild plant species,” the school said.

The center will be constructed at the SSU Castilla campus.

Presidents from both institutions and other unit heads were present during the signing of the agreement.
