THE SOUTHERN Leyte State University ranked 122nd in the recent assessment of top universities by EduRank.

It placed 5th in the Eastern Visayas area among the 10 members of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges.

EduRank is a web source that assesses universities and other educational sectors in the world based on their social media performance.

It evaluated 230 universities in the Philippines based on their social media interactions and activities.

EduRank said that the rankings were based on an impartial algorithm that examines the performance indicators of colleges’ websites and social media profiles, such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

It also looked at their social engagements and traffic, time spent on the website, and the volume of searches of and about the institution.
