SLU BAGS TOP HONORS AT CHED ICONS AWARDS 2024
SAINT Louis University achieved a historic milestone in internationalization by clinching multiple awards during the Commission on Higher Education Internationalization Champions of Nation-Building and Sustainability Awards 2024.
SLU President Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales received the prestigious IZN Leadership Award, recognizing his transformative leadership in fostering global engagement and international collaboration in higher education.
CHED emphasized that the IZN Leadership Award honors exceptional leaders who integrate international and intercultural dimensions into higher education while exemplifying resilience, humility, and integrity.
Meanwhile, the university also earned the Global Citizenship Award – First Runner-up, reaffirming its role as a leader in global education and cross-cultural initiatives that align with sustainable development goals.
Representatives of SLU, including Dr. Joselito C. Gutierrez, Dr. Felina Espique, and Dr. Stephenie Busbus, accepted the awards.
The Global Citizenship Award celebrates institutions advancing intercultural learning experiences and promoting active global citizenship among students through sustainable development programs.
Additionally, CHED-CAR, under the leadership of Dr. Demetrio Anduyan, was recognized as the Best Regional Office for Internationalization, further highlighting the commitment of Philippine higher education institutions to global excellence.
