DR. ANGELO Q. Pena, founding president of Southern Luzon State University, passed away last Tuesday.

He was 94.

Peña served as president of the then Southern Luzon Polytechnic College from 1964 to 1986.
The university also paid tribute to its former president with an interment until Sunday.

“Ang iyong napaka-produktibong pamumuno, delikado at magandang serbisyo, at mapagmahal na pag-aaruga upang mapayabong, maitaguyod at mapaunlad ang dating (SLPC),” SLSU said in a statement.

“…mananatili sa aming puso at alaala magpakailanman. Maraming salamat po! Mula sa samahan ng mga guro, kawani, at mag-aaral ng ating unibersidad,” it added.

Peña’s remains will be available for viewing at the SLSU gymnasium before the scheduled burial at St. Louis Parish Church.
