SKSU, IASPER INK PACT FOR AI TRAINING FOR ACADEMIC USE

/ 18 February 2024

THE SULTAN Kudarat State University and the International Association of Scholarly Publishers, Editors, and Reviewers have inked a pact for the training workshop on the use of Artificial Intelligence for academic purposes.

According to IASPER, over 70 participants from different private and higher educational institutions attended the workshop, which was also accompanied by a ceremony.

According to Sulu State College, the training workshop started with ‘demystifying’ AI in the academic space.

“AI assistants that could curate personalized reading lists, identify research gaps, flag potential plagiarism, and even make a simulation-scripted research advisory and panel,” SSU said.

Responsible AI use in the academe has been gaining traction across the educational sphere, which supporters deem to be next step in further enhancing education.

“AI is indeed a powerful tool, but it doesn’t and will never replace the wisdom and empathy of a good teacher and/or research,” SSU added.

The workshop was conducted on February 7 to 9, 2024 at the Selah Pods Hotel Manila in Pasay.

A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between SKSU and IASPER at the event for co-hosting the workshop and others to come in the future.
