SILLIMAN UNIVERSITY SUSPENDS FACE-TO-FACE MEETINGS

THE SILLIMAN  University has suspended physical meetings on campus after five of its personnel were exposed to Covid19 patients.

“Because of this development, all face-to-face meetings on campus are to be deferred until further notice. The University’s Covid19 Crisis Management Group is currently addressing this matter in coordination with city and provincial health officials,” the school said.

It added that the school personnel exposed to Covid patients have been isolated and authorities are conducting contact tracing.

The university reminded its employees to observe all health protocols including the wearing of face masks and face shield, physical distancing, and proper washing of hands.

Assistant Provincial Health Officer Dr. Liland Estacion, health committee chair of the province’s Inter-Agency Task Force, earlier said that there could be local transmission of the new coronavirus in the province.

Based on the latest count, there were 191 Covid19 cases in Negros Oriental with 178 recoveries and five deaths.
