/ 28 May 2021

THE SILLIMAN University suspended temporarily the taking of photographs on campus because of the rising Covid19 cases in Dumaguete City.

“All requests for picture-taking inside the campus shall no longer be allowed. Previously scheduled or approved picture-taking activities of graduates and alumni are hereby cancelled,” the university said.

The school also suspended all face-to-face activities, meetings, retooling, trainings, and worship services.

The school advised its constituents to observe the minimum health and safety protocols such as proper hand washing and wearing of face mask and face shield.

The Department of Health’s regional office said that Negros Oriental has the most number of new cases in Central Visayas.

Assistant Provincial Health Officer Dr. Liland Estacion said Dumaguete City is Negros Oriental’s Covid19 epicenter. Of the 709 active cases in the province, 184 are from the city.
