SCHOOLS SEEK JUSTICE FOR KILLING OF STUDENT AND TEACHER

/ 20 June 2022

THE NORTHWESTERN Samar State University and the STI Calbayog called for justice for the killing of a student and a teacher last week.

NWSU engineering student Jade Bestudio and STI educator Roan Jeallen Lamparas were killed in Calbayog, Samar.

Authorities believe that Bagacay was raped before being killed. Her skull was crushed.

Meanwhile, Bestudio was found lifeless beside a drain in Barangay San Policarpo.

“Northwest Samar State University condemns in the highest term the recent brutal killing of our education alumna, Ms. Roan Lamparas, and our mechanical engineering student, Mr. Jade Bestudio,” NWSU said.

“Justice must prevail. In this time of grief, let dismay be our drive, our voice be the message,” it added.

STI also echoed the same sentiment.

“We, the faculty, students, and staff of STI Calbayog express our profound grief over the tragic incident of a teacher and a college student who were brutally murdered,” STI Calbayog said.

“As a network of schools, STI always performs the best to nurture our students to become responsible members of society. And by being responsible, we are encouraging everyone to be the voice shouting for justice. And JUSTICE MUST PREVAIL,” it added.
