SAINT JUDE CATHOLIC SCHOOL STUDENT WINS 1ST PLACE IN PH BIOLOGY OLYMPIAD

A STUDENT from Saint Jude Catholic School claimed the first prize in the Philippine Biology Olympiad 2023.

Chiarra Tan-Gatue bested other finalists from various schools in the Philippines to bag the title.

Meanwhile, Andre Gerard Aw of MGC New Life Christian Academy placed second while Carlos Manuel of the Philippine Science High School Western Visayas Eusoya ranked third.

Ayisha Madeleina, also from Saint Jude Catholic School, was the third runner up.

The winners will advance to represent the Philippines in the 34th International Biology Olympiad to be held in the United Arab Emirates on July 3-11, 2023.

PBO is the country’s premier biology competition for students in Grades 7 to 12. It serves as the venue for selection of the country’s four student delegates to the annual IBO.

The Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute endorsed the Department of Biology of the Ateneo de Manila University and the Ateneo Biological Organization-eXplore. eXperience. eXcel. as the official organizers of the PBO.
