RTU TO FACULTY: USE EMAIL TO COMMUNICATE WITH STUDENTS
THE RIZAL Technological University has banned its faculty from using Facebook Messenger in communicating with students.
The school directed faculty members to use email as the official means of communication with their students.
“It has been observed that most official communications are sent and forwarded through social media accounts, specifically through Facebook Messenger. Although the said application provides easier and more convenient access, data protection is compromised and jeopardized despite its practicality,” RTU said in a memo.
It said that email should always be used in the dissemination of official memos, documents, office orders, and other correspondence.
RTU added that officials, faculty members, and other employees must use their institutional e-mail accounts for official and business purposes.
