PUP SIGNS MOA WITH DAILY TRIBUNE

/ 15 January 2021

THE POLYTECHNIC University of the Philippines signed a Memorandum of Agreement on multimedia partnership with the Daily Tribune.

PUP President Dr. Manuel Muhi said the partnership will provide more opportunities to students and faculty members of the university.

“This partnership will truly provide our dear students hands-on experience within a dynamic and progressive learning environment through on-the-job training programs and will further equip the faculty with practical skills and expertise for the crafting of industry-ready course works that fit the needs of the community,” Muhi said.

Under the MOA, the Daily Tribune will conduct seminars, panel discussions, lecture series, and practical training programs for students and faculty.

The university, on the other hand, will arrange the use of appropriate venues and provide logistical support and participants to the projects that will be conducted.

“It is our aim to provide students with the space to learn while giving them a more holistic look at the realities of today’s journalism away from the construct of a traditional news organization,” Dinah Ventura, Daily Tribune’s Associate Editor, said.

PUP Vice President for Research, Extension and Development Dr. Anna Ruby Gapasin said that the agreement would serve as a tool for faculty members to continue their professional development.
