PUP PROF WINS TOP PRIZE IN FIBA PHOTO TILT
A FACULTY member of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines won the top prize in the recent FIBA Photo Competition.
Christopher Andres was recognized for his entry titled “Building Bridges Through Basketball Competition.”
The achievement has earned Andres the prestigious role of serving as the official photographer for the highly anticipated 2024 FIBA Open in Switzerland.
“It is indeed an honor and a privilege to have my work recognized by FIBA. I am thrilled by the opportunity to be the official photographer of the FIBA Open 2024 in Switzerland,” Andres said in a Facebook post.
“It would be a great experience to contribute to such a significant event in the basketball community,” it added.
The FIBA Photo Contest, running from December 2023 to February 2024, attracted participants from 98 countries, becoming a leading global basketball photo competition.
Themed “Basketball For Good” and celebrating World Basketball Day, it highlights the sport’s positive social impact.
Winners receive valuable prizes, including the chance to serve as the official photographer for the 2024 FIBA Open, with their work published in the 2023 FIBA Photo Book, chosen by a jury of professionals.
