PUP OPENS NEW CAMPUS IN CALOOCAN
THE Polytechnic University of the Philippines will open a new campus to provide more quality education and training to residents of Caloocan City and its neighboring communities.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the new university was conducted earlier this month.
Under Senate Bill No. 2013, the new PUP Caloocan North Campus will be the university’s 23rd branch and satellite campus in Luzon.
“This will also be the first state-sponsored University in Rainbow Village Deparo which aims to address the absence of state-run tertiary education institutions in Metro Manila North or Caloocan-Malabon-Navotas-Valenzuela area to allow the learners to attend university and complete their education,” PUP said in a statement.
In his Facebook post, Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo ‘Along’ Malapitan expressed gratitude to PUP and highlighted the importance of the construction of the new campus in the City.
“Alam po natin na ang pagkakaroon ng campus ng isa sa mga pinakamahuhusay na unibersidad sa buong bansa ay tiyak na makatutulong sa ating mga inisyatibang paunlarin ang kalidad ng edukasyon dito sa ating lungsod,” said Malapitan.
The new campus will have six floors with 1,500 sqm per floor area, laboratories, library, study areas, multipurpose halls, and offices.
The construction of the PUP Caloocan North Campus is expected to be completed in 2025.
