PUP INKS PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENTS WITH TWO FOUNDATIONS

/ 1 December 2022

THE POLYTECHNIC University of the Philippines signed partnership agreements with two foundations for scholarship programs for poor but deserving students.

The scholarship agreements with the Beta Epsilon Sigma-Hiyas ng Silangan Foundation Inc. and Megaworld Foundation will support students from the College of Accountancy and Finance and College of Engineering.

The BHFI said “economically challenged but academically brilliant PUP students” should be given a chance to pursue their education and finish their degrees.

The support will continue until the scholars graduate if their grades do not fall below the required general weighted average.

Scholars who will place first in the board exam will also receive P1 million cash incentive and a trip for two to the United States, BHFI official Oscar Jornacio said.

The BHFI said it chose PUP as its partner because of the exemplary performance of PUP alumni who work in their company.

The university thanked the two foundations for choosing to support PUP students.

“OSFA acknowledges the support of the Foundation in attaining the mission of the university on ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education” Ana Liza Publico, director of PUP’s Office for Scholarships and Financial Assistance, said.
