PUP GETS P30-M GRANT FROM CONGRESS
THE Polytechnic University of the Philippines has received P30 million in funding from the House of Representatives for its new infrastructure in the Ragay campus.
The grant funding will be utilized to construct a four-storey classroom.
PUP said the building is consistent with the school’s vision “to provide expanded physical facilities for the benefit of its growing community of students, faculty, and staff.”
“With construction already in motion, Ragay Campus officials are looking forward to continued academic success and good relations with the local government. Such engagements are beneficial to creating more opportunities for free and quality learning for all,” it said.
Campus director Dr. Veronica Almase said the project was envisioned as early as August 2022.
A resolution in support of the construction project to house the library, computer laboratory, and classrooms was then drafted in November 2022.
Camarines Sur 1st District Rep. Tsuyoshi Anthony Horibata facilitated the grant, according to the university.
Horibata hoped that the government “is helping improve education opportunities for Iskolar ng Bayan from Camarines Sur and nearby provinces” with the new facilities.
