THE PRESIDENT Ramon Magsaysay State University in Zambales received a grant from the Department of Science and Technology Region 3 for the implementation of its community development program.

The school’s S&T based project for sustainable agriculture and community development is part of the DOST’s Community Empowerment through Science and Technology program.

The beneficiaries are former rebels and the poor.

School officials met with DOST representatives on Wednesday for the turn-over of funds.

“DOST-III and PRMSU jointly undertake the project and committed to its fulfillment. Two of CEST’s components are economic development and livelihood opportunities and environmental protection and conservation,” PRMSU said on Facebook.

“The DOST-III has endeavored to assist PRMSU in providing the technology for economic development and livelihood opportunities, environmental protection and conservation, and technology training to identified beneficiaries, including rebel returnees and marginalized sector in Zambales by allocating funds from the expanded implementation of CEST in Region III,” it added.
