PNU RELEASES ACADEMIC EASE GUIDELINES

/ 8 December 2020

THE PHILIPPINE Normal University has released the guidelines on “academic ease” to help its students and faculty members manage the challenges of distance learning.

PNU President Bert Tuga released Memorandum No. 234, s. 2020 detailing the policies for the remaining days of the academic year 2020-2021 from December 1 to 19, 2020.

Tuga instructed the professors to hold synchronous sessions for only 60 minutes for undergraduate classes, 75 minutes for 4-unit courses, and 90 minutes for graduate classes.

The university also mandated professors to record their remaining classes and make it available to their students.

It urged professors to be considerate in assigning deadlines for academic requirements.

Under the memorandum, the submission of academic requirements will be moved to January 15, 2021, and the encoding of grades to February 1 to 5.

“The focus of the remaining weeks will be on more self-paced activities to allow students flexibility in accomplishing asynchronous tasks and submitting on an agreed schedule,” Tuga said.
