PLM VOWS TO CONTINUE PROVIDING ACCESSIBLE, QUALITY EDUCATION
THE PAMANTASAN ng Lungsod ng Maynila on Thursday pledged to sustain Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso’s advocacy of providing accessible and quality education to Filipino.
Domagoso recognized the school for its acceptance of more undergraduate students amid the pandemic.
The mayor lauded PLM President Emmanuel Leyco, members of the Board of Regents, staff and faculty for addressing the needs of more than 18,000 students during the health crisis.
He stressed that schools funded by the city are open to every learner as long as they want to study.
“This is the same reason behind PLM’s unprecedented increase in enrollees for academic years 2020-2021 and 2021-2022, believing that education is a right of every Filipino,” the school said.
Leyco thanked Domagoso for recognizing the university’s efforts.
“We have seen firsthand how our respected Mayor prioritizes the education sector, given the immense support the city government has extended to members of the PLM community through the years,” he said.
“Through annual subsidies, students’ monthly allowance, and distance learning tablets, the City Government really enabled underprivileged students to catch up with virtual learning modes,” he added.
