PLM HONORS FILIPINO NURSES
ON THE celebration of International Nurses Day, the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila expressed gratitude to Filipino nurses for their dedication and sacrifice during the Covid19 pandemic.
“We salute and thank our hardworking frontliners who have been helping cure patients struggling with Covid19 and other diseases. Without their nurturing touch, the country could have seen far more deaths amid this crisis,” PLM said in a statement.
“May they serve as inspiration to aspiring health workers, especially for current students from the PLM College of Nursing, to pursue the profession with diligence and a fervent desire to contribute to nation-building,” it added.
Nurses Day is celebrated every May 12, the birth date in 1820 of Florence Nightingale, the foundational philosopher of modern nursing.
The event, established in 1974 by the International Council of Nurses, also serves to highlight the important role of nurses in health care.
