PLM HONORS EMPLOYEES, STUDENTS ON 54TH FOUNDATION DAY

/ 24 June 2021

THE PAMANTASAN ng Lungsod ng Maynila  honored outstanding employees, students, board topnotchers, and alumni during the celebration of its 54th Foundation Day.

“The past year has been difficult for all of us, but we have risen above the challenges brought about by the Covid19 crisis. We are here today to celebrate PLM’s legacy, which we continue to achieve with everyone’s help. This is our way of acknowledging your many contributions,” PLM President Emmanuel Leyco said.

“Let us sustain PLM’s legacy of serving the people and may we always be guided by the University’s principles of Karunungan, Kaunlaran, at Kadakilaan in our day-to-day lives,” he added.

Many of those honored are long-time faculty members and staff of the university who received the Service Award and Loyalty Award. Posthumous awards were also conferred on some personnel who have died.

PLM was established on June 19, 1965, coinciding with the birth of national hero Dr. Jose Rizal.

Two years later, the first Board of Regents was convened to lead PLM, the first university to be funded by the city government of Manila.
