GRADUATES of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila were lauded for their perseverance to finish their courses despite the challenges brought by the pandemic.

PLM President Emmanuel Leyco praised the graduates for overcoming the hardships.

“Tayo ngayon ay punom-puno ng kagalakan at pasasalamat dahil sa kabila ng pandemyang ito –– na iginupo ang ating kabuhayan at ang kalusugan ng ating mga mamamayan –– patuloy tayong nakatindig at magsisipagtapos,” he said.

Leyco admitted that the education sector was one of the biggest victims of the pandemic.

“Marahil masasabi natin na ang edukasyon ang isa sa mga pinakamalaking casualty ng Covid19. Bigyan po natin ng tamang pansin, lagyan po natin ng tamang kakayahan ang mga pamantasan sa mga panahong ito,” he said.

The number of PLM enrollees increased despite the global health crisis — from 8,000 before the pandemic to 13,000.
