PISAY TO IMPLEMENT DISTANCE LEARNING UNTIL END OF YEAR
THE DEPARTMENT of Science and Technology announced the Philippine Science High School System will continue to implement distance learning modality until December 2021.
DOST Secretary Fortunato de la Peña said the move aims to prevent learners and teachers from getting infected with Covid19.
“We also considered the feedback from the students’ parents. Most of them are unwilling to have their kids stay in dormitories,” De la Peña said.
He said the lack of Covid19 testing was also one of the reasons in postponing the holding of physical classes.
The official added the students will still use the PSHS Knowledge Hub website to continue their education.
Earlier, President Rodrigo Duterte said he will only allow the resumption of physical classes once the country achieves herd immunity against Covid19.
