A PHILIPPINE Science High School teacher was named Best Presenter in the International Atomic Energy Agency during the Virtual Training Course on Nuclear Science and Technology Specialized Program in the Field of Radiation Protection.

Jay Carl Agbay of the PSHS-Central Mindanao campus was recognized for embodying a “Star Teacher” quality throughout the training.

The event is part of IAEA’s Educating Secondary Students and Science Teachers on Nuclear Science and Technology.

It aims to expand and sustain nuclear science and technology information, education and communication among secondary school students and teachers in the Asia and the Pacific region.

Organized by Japan, it was held last August 5 to September 1, 2021.

Widely known as the world’s “Atoms for Peace and Development” organization within the United Nations family, the IAEA is the international center for cooperation in the nuclear field.

The agency works with its member states and multiple partners worldwide to promote the safe and peaceful use of nuclear technologies.
