PISAY STUDENTS SHINE IN FUTURE MODEL UNITED NATIONS

STUDENTS from the Philippine Science High School Central Visayas Campus bagged several awards in the Future Model United Nations: Online Conference held last month.

Rex Agnelo Monreal won the best position paper and best delegate for representing Mexico in the Economic and Social Council.

On the other hand, Mary Mardelle Mernando also secured best position paper for representing Luxembourg in the United Nations Environmental Assembly.

Representing Denmark in UN Environmental Assembly and as the Grand Delegate of the entire conference, Steven Lee Perez was declared as the outstanding delegate.

Meanwhile, Duke Charles Alton Pangatungan was the honorable mention for best delegate for representing Malysia in the UN Environmental Assembly.

The students were mentored by Dr. Nardgin Balili and Ruby Cres Gayda, who served as their coaches.

Model United Nations are simulations of the real UN in which student delegates assume the roles of diplomats of the countries they represent in attempting to reach solutions to the major problems facing the world today.

At the end of most conferences, outstanding delegates in each committee are recognized and given an award certificate.
