PISAY STUDENTS SHINE IN 2023 ATENEO CHEMISTRY OLYMPIAD

STUDENTS from the Philippine Science High School System won in the 2023 Ateneo Chemistry Olympiad.

The group of Kiersten Gene Calubaquib, Aaron Joseph Gavino and Davis Nicholo Magpantay of PSHS Main campus was named the champion in the Written Exam Competition.

Lemuel Acosta, Geovin Jesus Reyes and Jacob Emmanuel Sadorra of PSHS Central Luzon campus were the first runner-up.

Mohammad Nur Casib of PSHS Central Mindanao campus, on the other hand, was the individual top scorer in the competition.

Casib was mentored by Joy Manquiquis.

Meanwhile, Medina Fe Palmera, Bea Margareht Claveria,and Angela Faye Bendal of the PSHS Mimaropa Region campus were the champions in the Product Development Competition.

Their entry was titled “Saw ‘DisGrease’ 1.1: Trapping System for Used Cooking Oil using Rice Husks, Sawdust, and Sugarcane Bagasse.”

They were mentored by Jezreel Gaa.

The group of Leanne Clarisse Losañes, Nea Elaine Marie Enim and Joshui Ichiro Añasco of PSHS Western Visayas campus was the first runner-up in the same category for their submission “”InstaGua: A Potential Water Purifying Effervescent Tablet.”

They were coached by Jiara Laine Montaño, Ramon Angelo Sinco and Athenes Joy Presno-Aban.
