THE PHILIPPINE Science High School Southern Mindanao Campus was a big winner in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Mathematical Olympiad Heat Round.

The school won 65 awards — seven gold medals, eleven silver, 32 bronze and 15 merit awards.

Jose Mari Ortega, Harold Sorianom Ryan Ocumen and Jarwin Eli De La Victoria received the Outstanding Teacher Coach Award.

The Big Bay Bei is an annual competition organized by the Olympiad Champion Education Center in Hong Kong. It is open to grade school learners.

The competition aims to stimulate and foster young learners’ interest in Mathematics, strengthen the ability of the students’ creative and critical thinking, and promote the development of kindergarten, primary, and secondary education and exchange of educational cultures across countries.

The Final Round of the competition will be held in March 2023.
