THE PINES City Colleges in Baguio City on Friday announced that it will implement a one-week academic break next week.

The break will be from November 11 to 17.

Online activities, synchronous and asynchronous classes will not be allowed during the furlough.

There will also be no submission of activities, quizzes and assignments.

On Wednesday, the local government of Baguio City granted the request of several youth groups for an academic break.

It gave universities the discretion to decide on the dates of the break.

Last week, students from various universities wrote to the city government calling for a week-long city-wide academic break.

They claimed that students are struggling to fulfill their academic requirements while still recovering from the devastation left by Tropical Storm Maring.

Meanwhile, the University of the Philippines-Baguio suspended the submission of requirements and postponed all scheduled examinations from Nov. 2 to 8.
