PANGASINAN STATE U PERSONNEL URGED TO GET JABS

/ 29 April 2021

THE PANGASINAN State University urged its personnel to get vaccinated against Covid19 to help quash vaccine hesitancy among Filipinos.

In a webinar organized by PSU on Tuesday, Dr. Cielo E. Almoite, Lingayen District Hospital chief, said that getting vaccinated is necessary to achieve herd immunity.

“The Covid19 vaccine serves as our first layer of defense against the virus. Therefore, we need to be informed and participate in the national vaccination program for us to attain herd immunity,” Almoite said.

“Regardless of the brand of vaccine, when it is your time to get vaccinated, grab the opportunity to protect those most dear to you,” she added.

The webinar was spearheaded by the Office of the Student Affairs and the Medical-Dental Unit.

A survey conducted by Pulse Asia in 2020 said that 47 percent of Filipinos do not want to get vaccinated.

PSU President Dr. Dexter R. Buted got a Covid19 jab in March to promote the vaccination campaign of the government.
