PANGASINAN STATE U INITIATES ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

/ 15 December 2020

THE PANGASINAN State University started an information drive regarding its application for environmental compliance certificate.

Prof. Irene De Vera, head of the school’s Pollution Control Unit, said that the program aims to inform its constituents about the need of the university to comply with environmental standards.

“The Pollution Control Unit aims to bring awareness to the members of Pangasinan State University with the environmental impact of every constructed infrastructure,” the PSU said.

“Said campaign focused on the discussion of the purpose of environmental impact assessment, preliminary identified environmental aspects were discussed, and the need of the university projects to comply with the environmental standards,” it added.

De Vera said that the campaign will determine how to mitigate the environmental effects of PSU projects.

“Whatever project, there is an environmental impact, whether positive or negative. We have to determine what those are for us to know the mitigation measures needed,” De Vera said.
