GRADUATING students of the Megabyte College Foundation Inc. in Floridablanca, Pampanga raised a howl of protest over the school’s collection of alleged excessive fees for thesis defense.

They claimed that the university suddenly imposed an additional payment of P1,750 on top of the P3,500 that they had paid.

“Sa mismong araw ng Hunyo 23, 2020 biglang nagbago ang plano ng aming eskuwelahan, sinabi nilang kailangan naming magbayad ng additional payment na P1,750 na walang maliwanag na explanation at breakdown kung para saan ang babayaran namin,” the students said.

“Hindi namin expected na may babayaran pa kami dahil ang alam namin fully paid na kami sa aming thesis defense.”

They added that the universityhas threatened not to release their Transcript of Records and diploma if the additional fee will not be paid.

“Pinipilit rin nila kaming magbayad dahil iipitin nila ang aming mga TOR at diploma. Alam namin na fully paid na kaming lahat dahil mayroon na po kaming clearance na katunayang wala na kaming problema sa mga subjects at sa mga bayarin,” the students stressed.

They said that the school also pressured graduating students who used the old curriculum to pay P5,000 per subject.

“Nagpapabayad sila ng mga subject na naiwan na nasa old curriculum na nagkakahalaga po ng P5,000 bawat isang subject,” the students said.

The management of the school being complained of can’t be reached as of posting time.
