PALAWAN STATE U EXTERNAL CAMPUSES SOON TO BE REGULAR CAMPUSES

/ 1 July 2022

THE EXTERNAL campuses of the Palawan State University in 13 municipalities will be turned into regular campuses.

This came after Republic Act 11780 which aims to grant regularization status to the external campuses of the College of Community Resources Development lapsed into law.

In a report, Palawan News said that the bill was not acted upon by the Palace after 30 days of receiving the communication.

The CCRD is governed by the local government units, the Parent Teacher Council and the university.

The law covers campuses in the municipalities of Narra, Brooke’s Point, Roxas, Taytay, Coron, Sofronio Española, Rizal, San Vicente, Linapacan, San Vicente, Bataraza and Dumaran.

These campuses will now have their own allocation and will not be reliant on the Main Campus for their respective budgets.

RA 11780 was first introduced by 2nd District Rep. Cyrille Abueg-Zaldivar under House Bill 6975 and was passed in the Senate  in February.
