PALAWAN GOVERNMENT EARMARKS P123-M FOR LEARNING GADGETS

THE PALAWAN provincial government allotted more than P123 million for the procurement of educational gadgets for incoming senior high school (Grades 11 and 12) students in the whole province.

Budget for the program came from the province’s Special Education Fund (SEF).

The digitized learning materials are pre-installed in the gadgets that no extra charges are needed on internet fee.

Division Information Officer Grace Estefano said the local government will release guidelines on the use of the tablets.

She added parents and students are required to sign an affidavit of undertaking for them to better understand the significance of gadgets for the study of learners.

Meanwhile, Schools Division Superintendent Natividad Bayubay expressed appreciation for the support the provincial government gave to public school students.

“The overwhelming support in the Division Learning Continuity Plan of the Palawan Provincial Government through the leadership of Governor Jose CH. Alvarez is a manifestation of our strong partnership. We strongly believe that education is an investment,” said Bayubay.

DepEd-Palawan is also preparing printed modules which will be used by students when classes resume on August 24.
