THE OCCIDENTAL Mindoro State College has inched closer to becoming a university.

The school said that it only needs to comply with several requirements before completing its journey to a university status.

OMSC said that the Commission on Higher Education office in MIMAROPA relayed this development.

The school is set to be awarded a Certificate of Program Compliance which certifies that the courses comply with the standards of CHED, for four courses.

Republic Act 11857, the bill granting the college university status, was passed last year.

The college was advised to strengthen its graduate school by offering more courses.

It was also urged to focus on a single unified extension program for the whole school.
