OMSC CONDEMNS FAKE SOLICITATIONS
THE Occidental Mindoro State College denounced the illegal use of its name for fake solicitations while claiming to be a part of the school.
According to OMSC, it has not authorized anyone from the college to solicit from individuals, business establishments, or corporations.
OMSC advised the public to be wary of such incidents and report them to the university.
“Again the college advises the public to remain vigilant with such cases and to report such incidents,” OMSC said.
“OMSC greatly condemns acts that use her good name for fraudulent means,” it added.
Other schools like the Marinduque State College, Northwest Samar State University, and University of Antique, among others, also warned the public against such cases, noting the rise of online scams in the country.
The Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group recorded 11,071 cases of online scams in the country in 2023.
