NEGROS Oriental State University was recognized as an Outstanding University at the 2022 American Concrete Institute Award for University Student Activities.

Following the recognition, the ACI Philippines-NORSU Student Chapter reached 53 institutions located both domestically and internationally, including those in Bangladesh, Guatemala, India, Iraq, Jordan, Mexico, Pakistan, Peru, Puerto Rico, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates.

According to ACIP-NSC President Carl Vincent Alayon, the award is in recognition to schools which made exceptional efforts to achieve excellent and outstanding designations.

Alayon said the selection process included points earned for taking part in particular ACI-related activities and programs, as well as for leading student projects with a defined focus in their individual student chapters.

He also expressed his gratitude to ACIP-NSC members who remained active even during the pandemic and for accomplishing the significant breakthrough since their inception in 2019.

“To bring this kind of honor to our university keeps us motivated to pursue excellence,” he said.

ACI is a global, non-profit technical society and standards-setting organization that runs 244 student chapters, including ACIP-NSC, and aspires to advance and distribute knowledge on concrete and its applications.
