THE NORTHEASTERN Mindanao Colleges has warned the public against solicitation scams via text messages that use the name of the college.

NEMCO said that it received reports of a scheme where an individual posing as a student of the campus asks for donations for the school’s portal.

The school added that the individual claimed to be Ariana Mae Añora, a first-year education student.

The scammer asks for P50 donation for the maintenance of the portal.

NEMCO advised the public to be wary of such scams.

“Please be aware of a text fraud involving NEMCO Flare soliciting an amount for the FLARE Portal Maintenance. As such, the school has no absolute involvement about the latter,” it said.
