NEGROS ORIENTAL STATE U PARTNERS WITH OCEAN EDU VIETNAM
THE NEGROS Oriental State University and Ocean Edu Vietnam inked a partnership agreement to strengthen the English proficiency of Vietnamese teachers.
The NORSU Graduate School’s Language Program Department will launch an extension project dubbed “Teaching the Teachers: A Capacity Building Extension Project for Teachers Teaching at OCEAN EDU Hanoi, Vietnam” in April.
The school will provide a series of webinars on Language Learning/ Acquisition Theories and Principles to Vietnamese teachers.
Under the project, NORSU will also impart Language Teaching Approaches, Principles, Methods and Strategies to the teachers so they can effectively teach the macro skills — listening, speaking, reading, writing and viewing — to young learners.
One of the resource speakers of the project, Scarlet Gadingan, said that Ocean Edu Vietnam was chosen as the beneficiary because the proponent of the project, Dr. Ralph Cardeño, Graduate School Language Program coordinator, earlier conducted a webinar with the language school.
Among the project’s resource speakers were Cardeño, Dr. Maria Dolores Paculanang, Dr. Krester Diaz, Dr. Nova Ness Fabrienn Carin and Dr. Rose Marie Pinili.
